, for looking at my auction! This is the FIRST and ONLY one of these Armadillo's, I have EVER seen !
It is for a  very HARD to come by, Screaming Hairy Armadillo, also know
as the Small Screaming Armadillo, Crying Armadillo or the Small Hairy Armadillo.
It is a burrowing armadillo found in the central and southern parts of
South America. The adjective "screaming" derives from its habit of squealing when handled or threatened.
These armadillos have more hair growth than other armadillo species. The armadillo has 18 bands of which six to eight are movable bands. The hair on the dorsum is light brown in color.
The screaming hairy armadillo is a burrowing armadillo of arid areas from low to high altitudes. It is found in parts of the Gran Chaco and Pampas areas of Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. An isolated population is found in eastern Buenos Aires Province in Argentina.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, temperate shrub land, subtropical or tropical dry shrub land, temperate grass land, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grass land, hot deserts, temperate desert, arable land, pasture land, and plantations.
The base is 20 1/2" long x  9" wide on Natural looking base, it is about 8" to 9 1/2" tall, and measures about 21 3/4" long, from tip of nose to tip of tail..and about 17 1/2" around in the center... These animals are not RARE, in South America, BUT are VERY RARE - Here..... GREAT addition, for the Collector..
