Description
Vintage authentic 4-Page Petition submitted or drafted to be submitted to New Brunswick, Canada, Lt. Governor John Manners-Sutton objecting to a Medical Bill with over 100 names of either medical professionals or politicians or just regular citizens (unsure) with exact date unknown - but Manners-Sutton was LG of NB 1854-1861 so date of document can be narrowed down to that time period. Some wording difficult to discern which also makes determining the specific grievance challenging. There are X's next to several names which likely means they were supporting petition. The names all appear to be written by same person whoever penned the document so they are not actual signatures which is why the X was likely necessary. It's also possible the Petition didn't garner enough support and was never sent to the Governor. Anyway, we are done speculating it is a historical document nonetheless and museum-worthy. It measures approx. 8.25 x 13.25". Condition is acceptable the wording is quite legible apart from the handwriting style itself but there are tears along original creases and some restoration will be necessary.
