    Description

For sale is an interesting lithographed map of the Panama Canal in 1882.
France started building the canal a year earlier so I assume this was
based on their plans. They gave up in 1904. The USA took over and
    completed it in 1914.
The map is 24" x 18" on paper backed with linen. It was produced for the
San Francisco News Letter and printed by Britton & Rey in SF. There are
water stains on the front and foxing on the bank. It will be mailed in a tube.
